Nubian Spirit: The African Legacy of the Nile Valley (Trailer) The film digs deep into Ancient Africa's numerous contributions to modern civilization. It draws out the reality of such disciplines as astronomy, architecture, science and much more that the Ancient Africans used to make sense of their world. The film features dynamic interviews with leading scholars Robin Walker, K.N Chimbiri, Anthony Browder, Ife Piankhi, Onyeka, Dr. Kimani Nehusi, Rashid El Shelkh, an archaeologist and ground breaking museum curators Stephen Quirke and Sally-Ann Ashton. This story predate Judaism by over 1000 years and it can still be seen written on ancient temple walls and on papyrus. These stories today raise the question; "Did the early Israelites, Christians & Muslims really just copy their religious teachings from ancient Kemetians (Egyptian) texts?" I am going to pick this up today. Have you received your copy yet? I think its only normal that the Abrahamic religions would have been influenced by religious thoughts that had existed thousands of years before themselves. I think they must have had a different perspective on things though. We tend to look at these stories as literal historical events. I think they probably saw it more as alegories that represented certain spiritual principles and that is why we see them recycled later on.

This is an excellent documentary, & should be seen by all that have an active interest in ancient Kush & Km.t. I got my copy last year, & it still holds my interest each time I view it. The film maker Louis Buckley is a very nice brother, we corresponded through emails, really down to earth ! I prefer "Nubian Spirit" over the BBC documentary "Lost Kingdom". From what I've seen of "Lost Kingdom" is way too much status quo, for my liking. what I love about " Nubian Spirit" is, that it gives one a wholistic overview of the Nile Valley civilization. This documentary should be in every ones film library !

This documentary should be in every ones film library ! I received my copy today. I can see why it was the winner of the Audience Choice Award at the Pan African Film Festival 2009... this beautifully photographed documentary showing the culture, history and spiritual mythology of the people from the ancient Nile Valley was mesmerizing. I give it five stars. Check out this radio interview with the director and producer Louis Buckley. ( Link)
