I.What is Afro Wiki?
Afro Wiki is an online encyclopedia website I'm trying to develop that operates like sites such as wikipedia. Afro Wiki hopes to achieve providing people a much more centralized area of learning of African people/culture.

II.How Do I Help?

We need people to post information about topics already posted in this discussion and to make new ones. more on how in the next question.

III. Topic Format.

topic name: This will be the topic of the wiki article and will give people an idea of what to provide information towards. Please read the rules for what topics you can place here.


[first post]: Leave reserved for me to dump code. Just leave it blank. When I see that enough has information has been placed in the thread/discussion I'll start typing up how it'd look on the wiki. If there are any objections to how I'm typing the wiki feel free to post them anywhere in the thread as long as it's not the first page.

[second post]: Info dump reserve. This is basically going to be the post that allows me to quickly look through the highlight information posted throughout the discussion the thread without having to read every single post. You (if you're starting the thread, or I) will only post in the second post information people have provided on the subject like studies/research, and maybe what those studies suggest. You don't have to post the info in the second post as I will do it eventually if no one else does. So for all of you concerned that you can't edit the second post it's fine. If there's anything you think I missed any information when updating the second post please let me know ASAP.


[third post and beyond]:All posts after that can be dedicated to discussion of the topic and planting

II. Afro wiki prioritizes information with a lot of evidence, especially scientific evidence. None of us host wikia, wikia is a free tool to make an online encyclopedia at no bandwidth cost. There is a policy against promoting hatred as well. So we strongly encourage whatever is posted on Afro wiki to be a provision of fact, rather than half-truths, or weak support as this can easily be argued by people against Afro wiki to be about hateful rhetoric that rests upon weak evidence. Understand that Afro Wiki cannot post every theory, idea and the like. However Afro Wiki hopes to achieve providing people a much more centralized area of learning of black people--especially for black people.

I wonder whether ESR is the place for a Wiki format. SO far the AfroWIki has little organization or content and seems simply a diversionary spinoff from edit battles at Wikipedia. Why bother? We have in many ways already moved beyond Wikipedia. There are several pipelines now pumping out fresh content worldwide. Information is easily available both here on ESR and ES as well as Google in general.

Those who hope to make Wikipedia some sort of (censored and distorted) clearinghouse for info on African history and bio-history have failed. The censorship and distortion no longer works, and people need not tie themselves down battling in the Wikipedia hole and "admin Notice Board"- when they can better spend their time expanding other, fresh pipelines with content. Frankly as far as African history and bio-history is concerned no one needs Wikipedia. Much more accurate and up to date information can be found elsewhere, with a clear verifiable citation of evidence people can check out for themselves, citations that will not "disappear"with the latest BS "edit."

Alternatively, Wikia.com offers free Wikis as does pbWiki which can be locked and protected as needed.. Simply duplicating content WITHIN ESR in a WIKI format seems unnecessary. A fresh website like pbwiki that will give an additional Google hit center seems much better- if spreading the word about African history and diversity is the goal. I myself have provided direct links and content to help along said WIki, but it seems unnecessary. Why not just post content directly to a forum?

the problem with your suggestion is that the information lacks an encyclopedic format, and while it is available it is disorganized. Afro wiki in terms of quote dumping and the like lacks organization. But this isn't the actual wiki at all. This is just a site to gather facts and to put the code for it. ESR is not the wiki.

Four years have past since you wrote the above on Aug 19, 2012 and you still have not provided anything of substance, nor any touted better "organization" - confirming the impression that yours was simply a diversionary tactic.
