I've been following the Sphinx Competition now for a few years,I just think what this organization is doing is just great ! loving music; I have always loved classical music which I was introduced as a kid by a relative, a favorite uncle. I hope you enjoy the winners for 2014 !

Thanks for the musical interlude Nesben great story too,I usually don't listen to Classical music not because I don't find beautiful I just haven't made a conscious effort to check it out although my interest peeked when listening to movie soundtracks.

Thanks for the musical interlude Nesben great story too,I usually don't listen to Classical music not because I don't find beautiful I just haven't made a conscious effort to check it out although my interest peeked when listening to movie soundtracks. Anansi , I too was turned on to soundtracks( film scores) & have my favorites. One will find many of the jazz greats like Coltrane, Eric Dolphy & others had a great interest in classical music as well. Also there is a body of works by Black classical composers that i have spent some years collecting starting with Chevalier de Saint- Georges, who was born of a French nobleman & African slave, mother of the 18th century France. Their is a French film about his colorful & adventurous life; he was also one of the best swords men (fencing) in France. So like any thing else their has been contributions by people of African descent to the world of classical music.
