An interesting article about this girl who began life in poverty and ended up extremely wealthy in the early 20th century. I find it also interesting how the society at the time was ready to change her racial status to "white" and how many white men from across the country and Europe wanted to marry her. Does make one wonder doesn't it about the validity of racial classifications.
