I just happened to see Beyonce Grammy performance the other night. I was stunned by the imagery she used, & the artistic insight . The net has been all in an uproar, because most did not understand the imagery. I have read she has been called a modern day witch, heathen, in league with the devil, a Illuminati, you get the point. But what I saw was a gorgeous Black women, in her full power, being Orisha ( Goddess) as the 1st video talks about it was Oshun. I knew many people would not get it, they expected her bearing twins, to come out drooping it low, & shaking her money maker.
Showing herself as Black Goddess bearing twins in all her glory, & unapologetic, on national T.v. with an viewing audience of 30 million or more, was genius . I had not seen anything like it. Esp. Black, & White Christians were dumbfounded, by the performance . If it ain't Christian symbols, & imagery, than it must be of the of the " devil." We are not used too seeing positive African symbols, it frightens many people
The second video is of the actual performance half of it for it was around 8 min + . It was the best video of the performance I could find . Due to copyright infringement . the HD version cant be reproduced I have heard it said that Beyonce was" dump as bricks'. Given this symbolic performance I don't think so . It appears she is very astute Black women who knows her roots.
