I apologize for my recent lengthy absence but there has been some personal things going on that has torn my attention away from my passion of studying African history coupled with my internet being disabled and busy with school. So I decided to pick up reading again and decied to share some interesting reads I've come across and those I've been eyeing. So far I've read George Orwell's 1984, The First Crusade, The Chronicle of The Barbarians, Meji Book One, and I'm currently reading Othello the Moor from a volume of Shakespeare's complete works. Anyone else been reading anything of interest of late if so please share and as well as recommendations.

Thank you for sharing, but anything from the list you would recommend? I would recommend definitely picking up George Orwell's 1984, Meji Book One (although I had Book Two ordered it never arrived but so far a good series) and the First Crusade if your interested in having a more in depth understanding of the European and European history.

I would recommend reading all of them & also Ghosts In Our Blood:With Malcolm In Africa,England, & The Caribbean By Jan Carew. Africanisms In American Culture 1st and 2nd editions By Joseph E. Holloway are informative also. I have seen movies on Orwells'works but will read 1984. In those crusades there was a "childrens crusade in which the Europeans sold most of the child combattants into slavery, they didn't teach that in history class,I wonder why?

Hmmm I know the book made mention of the People's Crusade lead by a Hermit who was present at the time of Pope Urban's call to arms outside the walls of Paris that resulted in the death of thousands of unarmed pilgrims (women and children included) also being captured and sold into slavery by the Turks. That does sound interesting could you give me some source material to review? Also the character Iago is indeed a treacherous serpent, anything else you plan on reading in the near future because after I'm finished with Othello I'll probably read the Tragedy of Julius Caesar and Uncle Tom's Cabin.
