There are some apps that save html offline. Those could work. Also if you try a text to speech reader like VoiceAloudReader, you can send or "Share" a page to the app and it will convert the pages to plain text, as another option.

Thx. I've used Firefox to dwmld MHTML. Saves ES pages precisely like the originals. Doesn't preserve ESR pages intact though. I prefer html because imgs r ez 2 rip. Have to use a clipper to get imgs off of PDF. Good idea but plain text ain't for me. I need copies that replicate a page exactly as it appears online. Proboards, so far, is incapable of that. I hafta dwnld mobile and desktop versions of the same page and switch back and forth to read a saved page. Not being able to save work stifles me contributing any fully fleshed out posts here. And I can't make propere handouts for the proteges I mentor. There are some apps that save html offline. Those could work. Also if you try a text to speech reader like VoiceAloudReader, you can send or "Share" a page to the app and it will convert the pages to plain text, as another option.

Can't you go to local library and use their desktops to download selected pages in html or mhtml format to flash drive then transfer to mobile device? Your device's web browser (assuming all updates in place) should be able to pull up the offline pages in the normal format we see when using desktops. The library desktop should be able to save a page "as is" including all pictures. These pages may be standalone with a separate folder for the associated images (I-explorer I think). Or they may be the raw pages dumped with images and other stuff into whatever location the desktop saves in. Or the compressed MHT format of IE, Edge or Opera.
Try different browsers- IE, FIrefox, Chrome, Cheetah, Opera. One of them should be able to do what you want.

Thx again.
For years Firefox gives me perfect Phpbb pages in MHTML. For years on end I've been getting a) the webpage in htm b) a folder w/all imgs etc (when I use that option) That's how I restored those lost imgs on ES for Jari and lost posts for Doxie, by using saved pages, some from years ago.
The problem I have is specific to ProBoards PDF pages.
I don't think the problem is connectivity. I don't think the problem is which machine (mobile, laptop, alone or tethered) I use. Though its true I'm looking for a mobile -- on the go usage implementation -- solution.
The problem is ProBoards, from where I sit, unless you're telling me you successfully dwnld ESR pages in PDF intact and lose no lines between pages.
A PDF of a webpage should not skip lines or reformat a saved page. Save a lengthy ESR page via PDF and MHTML. Save a lengthy ES page via PDF and MHTML. Compare both to original pages and you'll see.
The ES PDF save is a facs of the webpage. The ESR PDF save is a re-assembled version of the webpage.
Now you don't have to do that test. Included it cos it'll show my exact problem. Appreciate the time you took to try and help me.
