One Baby Boomer's view:
Midlife crisis hits in the early 40's.
Men take on women nearly half their age.
Many buy dangerous toys like motopsychos and such.
Or involve themselves in pugilistics.
Approaching 65, or when the body starts betraying, is the onset of old age.
"Kids" see some grey and try to thug.
They quit as soon as the pugilist pops out.
Oops OT is a OG.
Surpassing the 70's a man can no longer deny his aging as his lady's man status is probably wilted.
If so, he may begin using his head for the first time in his life!
Having lived a full life avoiding all that left a lot of young fool thugs dead, an old man revels in his aging.
"I'm still here."
"Will you survive and get to where I'm at, or be where I have been?"
Being old doesn't stop much.
Being old is having experience you yet have to attain.
Being old is being expert at your game.
The hard part is "kids" telling you stuff they just found out about like its something new.
Ah yes, I was once a kid with foolish notions about older people as if I'd never be one.
Ageism is foolish and wasteful.
