Jeri I gave-up on Obama he will not stand and fight for any of the things I thought he stood for especially when challenged,Gitmo still operating,he surpassed Bush and company when it come to watering down or taking away our civil liberties,he has never met a banker he didn't like,he folds every time, I really think he would probably make a better secretary of defense,so adept he is in conducting corporate warfare for energy companies.

I think to many people simplify the complexities that the man is dealing with ! It is real easy for us to sit back in our comfortable mind sets be it Conservative, or Liberal to progressive & say what he should have done etc. Many people seemed to project on to Obama what they wanted him to be a ( savior ) & not who the man really is. I remember seeing a documentary about him when he was running for president, on PBS that gave many clues to who this man really was, but it seems like I was the only one to watched this documentary. He marches to his on drummer & can appear to be very contrary to what people expected him to be. Even at Harvard, when he was head of the law Review many were confused & disappointed by him, both Black & White students, because they saw him one way & he went another ! Conservatives see him as a socialist , Democrats/ Liberals/ progressives see him as a sell out, to compromising, or no back bone etc.
I think Obama is far more complex & nuanced than what people are used to, & can not easily fit a mold. Yes, I'm a stanch Obama supporter, & make no apologizes for it ! I knew he was a young brother, who would make some mistakes they all do including Clinton. But I always felt he was the man for this time in history. A good book to read about Obama that will give you some insights into his thinking is "Reading Obama "By James T. Kloppenberg. I'm sure their will be many more books about Obama in years to come ! What is it that the Hip Hop young people say ? "Hate the Game, Not the Player"

"Hate the Game, Not the Player" Nesben at this point it's just more than what folks wanted him to be,frankly he lied,he made promises he had no intention of keeping everything he did out side of defense seemed half hearted at best instead of repealing the patriot act he gave us NDAA,instead of reeling the banksters he gave them massive bail-outs without any real conditions, meaning the same situation exist as in 08 for an economic collapse.

At the end of the day this is capitalism so we don't need a president to put money in our pockets. If we want to make a difference how about we start doing things our selves, like mentoring children and establishing our own businesses in black neighborhoods. We need to stop being dependent. There's absolutely nothing to complain about. Obama is human, just as we are. People (especially politicians) lie. No big deal. Self-help is key. I refuse to demonize Obama as I'm sure he has good intentions. As far as policy, I haven't been paying attention because I've been too busy helping myself.

Prez election is coming up and obama wants to mitigate any negative press he might get. This played a major part in his decision as good amount of ppl were upset by his original plan or didnt agree. However, I think he could've left as it was but he and his ppl are very sensitive going into the elections.
Obama did what all politicians do and that is promise the moon during elections. Ppl should've known better from jump street. Congress passes the laws so a lot of what he wants to do he can't. Politics is comprise--if there's no compromise then nothing gets done.

I know we have to be self reliant guys, that's not what I am worried about,I am worried about folks who bad mouth politicians and goes against their corruption will be labeled terrorist and disappeared by the Army, that's a distinct possibility and need not happen in the first place, the economic situation if the Banks tanks no matter what you tried to do for self will affect your effort negatively.
