This has been on my mind quite a bit lately, so I figured I'd gather some of your thoughts. How does everyone feel about this Africom-US Africa Command that Barrack Obama is trying to implement. To me this seems like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Here is why it seems so suspicious: Africom was created in 2007 while George Bush Jr. was in office, and all of a sudden a black man who is still politically wet behind the ears is endorsed by who knows how many corporations? Its the perfect plan. Who better to recolonize the continent than a black guy!?

Generally it's a bad idea, yes it promotes employment and economic development near the bases, but it also makes you a pawn at best and a target at worst in any major conflict you may want nothing to do with,it also promote prostitution and a black market economy, it swallows up valuable real-estate look at Okinawa they have been trying to get rid of the American bases for yrs now,and Subic Bay in the Philippines was converted for civilian development quite a few yrs back.
If anything let the A.U develop it's own continental forces for rapid response and to eventually check N.A.T.O or any other outside military organization who would want to bomb an African nation into submission despite the objection of other African nations.
