This program aired last night on PBS showing the discovery of two Saharan civilizations that predated Egypt. As it is a PBS program it will probably only be viewable for a limited time. However, I thought it was interesting considering the issue of Saharn cultural contributions to Nile Valley Civilization and the other video I shared about the Black mummy from Algeria. Unfortunately, this site doesn't seem to support PBS videos. I'd suggest people go there to watch it then or maybe trying this link: video.pbs.org/video/2365086432/

Great find thanks for sharing, drowning in what was to become a desert wow! the Kiberians were large unexpected for that time at least for me so they must have had quite a diet, funnest part of the the vid during the C.T scanning the automated voice said hold your breath!! I almost fell off my chair. I always thought that there must be tons of things hidden under the sands. With a culture that spanned such a large area there had to be burials somewhere. I thought it was interesting seeing the skeletons. Undeniably African from the skulls, even though the two populations were very different in stature. I found it inteesting that the Kiberians lived primarily on an aquatic diet, no meat, where as the later population were definately meat eaters. I think the more research is done in the Sahara, the more questions with regards to the development of Nile Valley civilization will be answered. Evidence is showing that contrary to old opinion, the Sahara was not a barrier, but a zone that facilitated contact between Sub Saharan and Northern Africa. I think the signs were always there, but people didn't know what they were looking at, or overlooking as the case may be.

That is for sure this find was totally by accident, the Sahara still have many secret to give, people even educated ones still find it hard to grasp that there was a time when there was no Sahara and after the wet phase those folks took their beliefs and technology to the Nile and the Niger.

Thanks for the link. I will try to download and save video Please do. That would be a valuable asset. Just remember if you post it don't use the original title as that may get it flagged by people who will want to take it down. Honestly, information like this should be available to everyone. Not just to a few who have the time to watch the channel when it airs.
