They weren't African but Egyptian. The people *obsessed* with trying to equate an "African identity" to ancient Egypt are politically motivated (pan-Africanists, black movements etc). The reality is there is no single or unified African race or population. The reason mainstream academia ignores your "African identity", is because it has nothing to do with science, but politics.
And if you actually think for a moment how ludicrous an "African identity" appears...
Are you going to try to impose some sort of "European identity" as well? Shall history classes now be teaching the Germanic tribes and Romans were kinsman?
Bro. I'm white and have always associated Rome, Germany, France, and Greece in the same identity. If you could open your eyes and be objective. Looking at the data it is obvious the AE were black. No watching "The Mummy" is not evidence. Nor any other movie you have seen Hollywood. Go to Egypt. Do a boat tour down the Nile. I say down because to them (the AE) down was up. And look at the paintings without any previous judgements. Keep your mind clear of your biases. Look at their hairstyles. The way they dresses and if you still believe they are white than you are blind and need some powerful glasses. Even in the south today they are still black.
