I have been wanting to see this documentary on the master teacher John Henrick Clarke " A Great & Mighty Walk "for a long time now . It was made in 1997 with Wesley Snipes, who narrated & produced this excellent documentary on Dr. Henrick clarke, who made his transition & became an ancestor in 1998. What i like about this documentary is that he tells his own life's story with a sweeping discussion on African, & African American history. Some of this documentary is a little dated , but I feel still very enjoyable, told by the Master teacher himself.

Thanks for the vid Nesben the man gave a lot very perceptive of his critique of the million man march and Minister Farrakhan silence on Slavery in the Sudan and Mauritania.

One thing i have noticed about Dr. Clarke, he spoke the truth as he saw it ! He believed in the inclusion of Black women, not just in " The Million Man March" but, in other areas as well, for he knew the dynamism of Black women in helping shaping Black history( he did not support patracrchy which was unusual, for a Black man of his age ) . Also he was very out spoken of the Arab & Arabized Africans & their influence in & on Africa," No love lost there". |

Good info. Never really heard Clarke's critique. He says that the speeches at the Million Man March failed to acknowledge Africa in terms of putting it in a central cultural place. He condemns Farakhan for a poor grasp of black history and those blacks who uncritically accept his claims. He also hits Farrakhan for skin colorism (Light is better) taking money from the Arabists who have damaged Africa, soft-pedalling continued enslavement and exploitation of Africans, among other blunt criticisms. www.youtube.com/watch?v=naKejg-i6d8&index=2&list=PLB17E7D58A782A5AE |
