lol indeed, your decade on the front lines has been put to good use!
One can see the power and fluency in your excellent chart, particularly
the timeline. I have been looking lately at the extent of Kushite dominion
south, and seems to me looking at some scholars that it extended beyond
Kusti, below & south of Khartoum, and drew huge amounts of resources and
trade from further south deep into Sudan, which effectively makes Kush's
empire a "sub-Saharan" entity, a physical reality obscured by the shifting
of the Sahara south, converting African cultures once far to the north into NON
sub-saharan entities..
But anyway, when you say in its heyday Kush up to Meddigo, are you
thinking of the empire under Taharqa and others expanded into Palestine and
Syria?
And I know its been written about (but cant find links)- What's the latest on the
role of Kerma/Qustul/Nubia in founding the AE dynastic era? Way back
Bruce Trigger or Williams made this argument, and I know its been out of
favor for a while, but what's the latest? I know you are a master custodian of
"institutional memory" on the many links and resources of ES/The Nile.
