Europeans' white skin may have developed as recently as 8,000 years ago. A new report presented at the annual meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists suggests that Europeans' light skin and height may be genetic traits that developed much more recently than scientists previously thought. I don't know how reputable this journal is, but I think I read something similar on this site. Here is the article.

I don't know how reputable this journal is, but I think I read something similar on this site. Here is the article. Knew of studies like this before but according to the article they are saying that middle Esatern farmers carrying the lite-skinned gene passed on that trait to dark-skinned HGs.
