this film documentary is still in production, & this trailer is to introduce you to the film, plus to help in fundraising . The film is about, Am I to African to be African American, or Too American Too be African ?
Identity crisis? What a bunch of braindead negroes. That was a waste of 7 minutes. "Thanks a lot"#
Agreed, easily understood why no funder would give the "producer(s)" a measly $5000 grant. I wouldn't give 'em a subway/bus transfer!
AfricanAmericans are AfricanAmericans; descendents of the Middle Passage survivors.
Africans are Africans; born in Africa from indigenous parentage.
In West Africa many view most Black Americans as "white" because their non-African culture.
1st, 2nd, etc generation African immigrants to the USA are not African Americans (stripped of name, language, faith, cuisine, music, garb, etc.).
So, what are these American citizens from Africa?
They are Senegalese American, Guinean American, and so on. Take Little Senegal (African nationality) and Futa Town (African ethnicity) for instance.
Now of course there are subsets of Black Americans once referred to as Afrikans in America who indeed exemplify some level of hybrid/adopted/co-opted African cultures and are not regarded as "white" by sympathetic W. Afrs.
