Christopher Ehert is a Professor of history at the university of California Los Angles. I became aware of him some years ago & his articles have been discussed here on ESR & ES. I'm a great admirer of his work in dealing with African & Egyptian history. This book should be read by anyone who is serious about African history in a global context. Many of the blank spots about African pre-history is written about in this up-dated addition, The Civilization Of Africa To 1800 with wonderful photos in color, & B/W. I just started reading this book & I'm struck by how little is really known(ignored ) about Africa & her history & innovations that helped kick start movements in other parts of the world . He covers in this book; a unbelievable time span of about nineteen thousands years. He dispels long held beliefs & so called understanding about Africa, that many even today believe concerning Africa, the so called "Dark Continent " This book is a great supplement of information to any of us that have had our DNA done, & want to learn more about the migration patterns, innovations ,& climate shifts in Africa & her peoples, that helped spur innovations to other parts of the world.
