Yes some have a guilt complex, and with some others its just plain greed and
lust for power and resources. Chief Joseph had good insight as to methods used
by some:

These folks have known for centuries that the "Egyptians" were primarily indigenous Africans. Many with traits that would be unquestionable labeled "Black", pretty much anywhere in the world.

The need to falsify/lie about history to egocentrically prop up the "Western World", while simultaneously denying achievements to Africans (Of all varieties), is the fuel that keeps this foolishness going.

The goal is to keep people "Debating" about it for the foreseeable future, while steam-rolling ahead, with  a false Europe-Centric view, of the past, present and future.
