I've seen this before but hadn't posted on it, but yes it is interesting, but there are massive problems with it, first we have to imagine a time line where agriculture was fully developed in order to make a population density large enough for such a complex society, then all the other technologies necessary to reach that level.

Im sure that the issue u bring up will be reconciled once there is more research and excavation done in the Sahara regions ............... It appears that as more and more studies are done the so called origin of many things keeps going back and back in time. .............. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/07/150722144709.htmnow this article is interesting in that it says agriculture was identified in the "Fertile Crescent" some 23,000 years ago.....twice as old as previously thought. And as we have learned from this site many times already, all/many of the "firsts" ascribed to fertile crescent actually first occurred in Africa itself or are products of relatively recent African migrants out from Africa. If there was agriculture 23,000 u can bet your bottom dollar it existed in Africa contemporaneously or probably prior......and in a Wet Sahara.... Lots of stuff probably hidden under that sand.

It's gotta lotta great stuff but I very rarely rely on YouTube. Atlantis is just a piece of Greek fiction. Greco-Latin historians/geographers tell of a N African people, Atlantes. The ancient Greek Ἄτλαντες (Átlantes), are Atlas Mountain ranges peoples. Ἀτλαντὶς, the supposed Island of Atlas is fictional. For some reason people wish it was for real. They sidestep its inventor Plato placing it in the ocean west of the Atlas Mts. www.thoughtco.com/platos-atlantis-from-the-timaeus-119667They find it everywhere from the Caribbean to Turkey and now central Mauritania. atlantipedia.ie/samples/richat-structure-the-n/Leo Frobenius placed Atlantis in Nigeria! GOOGLE: leo frobenius atlantis Diop reconsidered the Myth of Atlantis, concluding it was Minoan Santorini. Civilization or Barbarism chapter 3. For the sake of awe and wonder, unlike the ancients, modern day folk seem to need an historic Atlantis. ascendingpassage.com/plato-atlantis-critias.htmascendingpassage.com/plato-atlantis-timaeus.htmMeanwhile African Studies is at an all-time low among the masses. Physical Africana bookshops have fallen like dominoes. Vendors can only market outdated though vital stuff, stagnation. Well everything comes around then goes away in cycles. Ouadane anyone? wikivisually.com/wiki/Ouadane#Historywww.ancient.eu/video/1484/

@ Bro al~Takruri New media is the culprit, if it ain't online it ain't fine so goes the attitude of young folks.
About Atlantis, I don't think it was ever a thing, however we do have to look at Göbekli Tepe which by some account is some 10-8kyrs b.c and massive to boot , complete excavation is expected to span more than one lifetime, Atlantis is supposed be of the higher end of that age, was it a real place doubtful, is the largely understudied and promoted ancient West Africa more tangible, well yes.

"Atlantis is just a piece of Greek fiction." Is it tho it was mentioned by Plato as being a report received from Solon who heard it from Egyptian priests ................The Egyptians were a heart attack serious people ...... Is Herodotus and his tales of Colchis/Egypt connection fiction ?? As I mentioned mentioned before, many discoveries in archaeology and history start out as investigations into "fiction", myths, legends, tall tales etc.....often times the great innovations come from amateurs and outsiders who can bring a fresh take on standard academy interpretation. take Robert Bauval for example - the "academy" still calls his hypothesis "pseudoscience" when it is clear that the Giza pyramids refer to Orion's Belt Constellation and the veneration of that phenomenon has even more ancient roots in societies and perhaps even civilizations from the Western Desert. Take the all the so called "Afrocentrists" much of whose claims have come to be verified by new genetic evidence... bottom line. That guy's hypothesis about Atlantis being in modern day Maurtitania is not outrageous based on the story. The very fact that the legend mentions Atlantis as having elephants and being 'beyond the Atlas mountains' means that West ( north west) AFRICA is its location. perhaps this spurs some new research and digs in an area that has been sorely neglected.

Small difference tho, Atlantis was supposed to have been in the extreme past, Herodotus and others actually visited the Kolkis.

Yes. Today's "kids" have a rude awakening ahead as Western European Civilization reaffirms its founding tenets of white female subordination and dehumanization of black peoples, especially Afrikans by far the most numerable black people on the planet and perceived as a major threat even our prepubescent children. www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/man-fired-shotgun-lost-black-boy-seeking-directions-says-hes-tired-victim-195312612.htmlThey respect dogs more than Black children. God rest Tamir Rice in peace. It seems Turkey is home to the earliest "civilization". Population genetics is showing the primacy of Anatolia "farmer" genomes. How many, or who, has actually read the primary sources of the Atlantis parable? I mean the Critias and Timaeus. Nobody front, nobody's read either of those works but act like they know. The particulars in my posted given passages from Plato (a non-historian philosopher and the only Classical writer on Atlantis which he invented) are ignored by those imagining Atlantis a reality. They require several fully maritime massively food producing nations to exist in the epi-Paleolithic. 11,000 years ago an Ice Age was just coming to a close. I like awe and wonder as much as the next person. I draw the line at what can be demonstrated possible by multidisciplinary proofs. What about African Studies? This focus on the Eye of the Sahara as Atlantis presents an opportunity to delve into the very real ancient sub-Maghreb Atlantes and much more relevant medieval Ouadane Mauritania, part of a real West African civilization. @ Bro al~Takruri New media is the culprit, if it ain't online it ain't fine so goes the attitude of young folks. Bottomline? OK 11000 years ago a hi-tech ISLAND in the ocean. Today a relicless rock formation further from the ocean than Atlanta or Prague? Who bothers to read Plato in context? Who bothers to study western Africa pre-history? Mauritania was a worse desert 11000 years ago than it is today not an island. But excuse me if you want no criticism of a viral YouTube. Sorry. Tell me about Ouadane. bottom line. That guy's hypothesis about Atlantis being in modern day Maurtitania is not outrageous based on the story. Good vid, well put together, in the level of myth there is much in agreement, however If there is anything like an Atlantis in that area I say go look at the Sonniki or Mande people first, they appeared to be the ones on cave paintings.

No wonder nobody takes African history seriously.
Why try and learn what Eye of Sahara really is. Better to vouchsafe fantasies than to investigate prehistoric Mauritania.
Sure, a dome (natural geological formation) far inland, in a desert no less, can be the remains of an Atlantic Ocean island.
How does this suppose to fit in the history and ethnography of Africa when it denies the results of African Studies prehistory linguistics and geology.
Motherfox Aterians, African Arid Period, African Humid Period, and Saharo-Sudanese in relation to central Mauritania.
What am I missing that everybody else seems to see its worth developing as clear as crystal, since this is the History folder?
Now, now, no criticism, deconstruction, or contrary evidence to be allowed and considered. Atlantis is real and in central Mauritania and that's it!
A wise African Elder told me it was passed down to him that unicorns are zebra-rhino hybrids. They're not around anymore because rhinos who wouldn't tolerate cross species relationships systematically murdered them off.
I could tell you what the Elder told me about satyrs but you wouldn't believe me.
