Hello,
My name is Andrew, Andy, for short and I am happy to be here. I will say openly that I am a proud white man who admires my ancestors for spreading civilization, education and culture all around the world.
I came across this website after watching the Miniseries called Roots by Alex Haley and doing a google search. I believe that what was portrayed there is very far from the truth and appears to mainly be an excuse to justify the social economic issues and struggles that seem to be dominant in black communities.
The fact is that Africa was a tribal civil war and rival blacks were selling each other into slavery (one thing the miniseries is accurate in). Beyond that we whites have shown compassion in rescuing many Africans from these war zones, taking them to the USA and providing them with shelter, nutrition and jobs, something we have done for hundreds of years. Thanks to the opportunities we afforded these individuals, the black community has thrived and the previous president of the United States was a black man. This is an example of integration done very well over time. As you all would have seen from ultra realistic movies like Django, the blacks living on these estates had a very high quality of life, far superior to Africa and were happy to be there.
I believe that the black community needs to be more adamant of the help obtained from the whites in civilizing themselves and gaining new opportunities. I hope over time to converse with many of you here and show you that your hatred is misplaced and instead you owe us gratitude.
Regards,
Andy
