Yes, the Minoan phenotype is intriguing.
Their homeland art depicts dark men and
dark women as well as light ones. Could
they have specifically picked Egyptian
complexioned men for their diplomatic
missions to Egypt?
AE's retouched some clothes in certain
Keftiu (Minoan) tribute bearer depictions
perhaps indicating regime changes in the
south Aegean.
Palestinian archaeology uncovered armor
and weapons of southwest(?) Aegean design.
Consider that with Goliath's war gear in mind.
It all adds to the Hebrew (Caphtor) and
Egyptian (homeless Sea Raiders) accounts
of non-Levantine origins for post 1200(?) BCE
Philistines.
Despite prior assessment of Libyan antecedents
of some Minoans, recent genetic studies find
Mykeneans had measurable African ancestry.
Puzzling?
Have you seen the fresco showing presumed
Minoan men with short springy locks? Some
are being defended while others were slain.
Been many years since I last studied
this topic so all the above is off the
top of my head.
I never saw a Hau Nebu image until you
posted one. Makes me rethink quite a few
things but mainly what relationship Keftiu
and Hau Nebu may have had with each other.
Considering the differing looks AE's gave to
the Keftiu, can the term be a little generic
as well as specific? Does it hint of Minoan
'settlements or colonies' in the northeastern
Mediterranean (i.e., southern Anatolia northern
Levant)? Or does it jibe with their geneticist
claimed Anatolia origins?
