Sorry if this has already been covered by the veterans on here, but someone tell me what is going on here in this picture: AE BarberOne of the common arguments from the Euronuts is that the Afro-hair in Ancient Egypt were all wigs. However if these guys sitting around are getting their hair cut, that makes no sense. The ones sitting down all have fully grown hair. Also why are the guys waiting appear to be so submissive and crouching like that? AE Barber

Can you give a link to where they are espousing "wig only" arguments?

Thanks. If so, it resembles modern military recruitment practise of soldiers getting their hair shaved.

Thanks. If so, it resembles modern military recruitment practise of soldiers getting their hair shaved. You're welcome. Though said to be soldiers I'm too stupid to see anything military about them. Yup! not at all too different from my second day in Navy boot camp ,a way of stripping down you of your civilian mindset and independent thought and remove pest, to remodel you as a uniformed fighting man.
Yessir !! the original raisins might have been an Egyptian fightin man.

Yep. The Egyptians also typically shaved clean, before donning their wigs.

Ashton founded original ES? Never heard that before. She was active a few years ago and her museum presentations were great- a contribution to the pool- but haven't heard much in recent 2-3 years. She mentions Petrie as to how he too saw some hair similarities between Egyptians and other fellow African groups.
