I just got back from the beach and I have to say, I saw all kinds of women of all kinds of colors. Light skinned girls are cute, but dark skinned girls were hot. I mean, hot. Just absolutely gorgeous and sexy. I found myself very attracted to them, and I don't mean as in a "big strong dark girl!" type way (I tend to scare off girls due to my 6'4 height ) I mean as bangin' hot. From caramel to dark brown, from Latina to "Black" my God they were absolutely breathtaking. When I marry, I know what I'll be looking for now. Dark girls you are very beautiful.

Ah ! I forgot to take some. I really couldn't just run up to them and take a pic, except for a group of African Americans who thought I'd look like Drake it'd be awkward. But let me tell you I still basque in the memories.

Looks like Gigantic hasn't smell blood in the water.
Looking thorugh the links posted by RWBC. It is disturbing that so many brothas, WITH MONEY, seek out white women. I don't have a problem with multi-ethnic relationships. But is unfair to the sistas.
It seems like these white woman have it made. Many who are skanky and.or lower class now have the opportunity to live a previlidge life which they would not have. A sista should be given that opportunity. After all many of these women are gold diggers.
I am however the first to admit that there "seems" to be a cultural difference between the black gold diggers and the white ones.
White people are very good at deception.

White people are very good at deception. And yet it will be the white guy who looks at a black woman with the darkest skin, natural hair and think she's hot mean while these proud black brothas wouldn't tough them with a 10 foot pole. I don't have a problem with interacial relationships as such, however, its when there seems to be a fetish or a fixation that I feel uncomfortable. When you see a guy who has NEVER dated a dark skinned sister, or ever dated a sister period, that disturbs me. And yet these are the same guys who will swear up and down they are proud to be black! I feel that if a white woman is aware of the struggle, and has the emotional equipment to raise children in a society that will most likely look down on them, then more power to them. If its one of these hippy dippy, fly by night kumbayah chicks.... HELL NO! I appreciate beauty in all its manifestations, but there is something about a dark woman that gets me. If I'm looking at Indians, its the darker ones who get my attention, when I'm in Egypt, itsthe bint inneel with the dark skin and almond shaped eyes that draws my eyes. The thing is, I just feel that dark skinned girls are not appreciated the way they are. I know guys who will pnly date white women, no matter how skanky or trashy. Part of me feels insulted, but then part of me realizes these guys are damaged goods and since humpty wasn't willing or able to put themselves back together again, who the hell needs them? I only hope they don't pass on their emotional defects to their kids.

By William Shakespeare
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun, Coral is far more red than her lips red, If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun, If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. I have seen roses damasked, red and white, But no such roses see I in her cheeks, And in some perfumes is there more delight, That in the breath that from my mistress reeks. I love to hear her speak, yet well I know That music hath a more pleasing sound, I grant I never saw a goddess go, My mistress when she walks treads on the ground. And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare As any she belied with false compare. We get Hippocrates, Theodectes, Aristotle, Heliodorus, and the poet Asclepiades (270 BC), who sings of his black love, "Coals are black; but when they are alight, they glow like rose-cups." Ovid makes it clear that Sappho was not considered white by the ancients. "If I am not fair, Andromeda, the daughter of Cepheus, was swarthy though the complexion of her country was pleasing to Perseus. White pigeons, too, are often mated with spotted ones and the black turtle-dove is often beloved by a bird that is green," she says to Phaon in Ridley's translation of Epistle XV of the Heroides of Ovid. Rogers doesn't leave out Pope's translation: "Brown as I am an Ethiopian dame." www.guardian.co.uk/books/2002/aug/10/featuresreviews.guardianreview12

I also enjoyed reading sections of the article on Rogers. I have volumes 1 & 2 of Sex and Race and while I feel he often over reached, he did do a great job of showing that the association of dark skin with uglyness was not a given in ancient Europe, nor was it a given even after the period of colonialism and slave trading. In fact, if Europeans automatically had an aversion to dark skin, why then was it necessary to pass laws forbidding mixed marriages? Rogers also did a great job documenting mixture of races in the Middle East and North Africa. Although there are many who have a light skinned bias and the media almost always is tipped towards the fairest skinned individuals, an examination of traditional poetry and songs from Egypt and the Arabic speaking countries shows many examples of the praise of the dark skinned beauty or samra. One of the most famous songs is Samra ya Samra composed by Karim Mahmoud, although I don't remember the year. This first clip is an instrumental, but I thought the orchestration was exquisit Singer has a deacent voice This is the transliteration of the Arabic lyrics. A rough English translation is found below it. Samra (black comlexion) Time after time I see you Your love disturbs the hell out of me Your light blood", she's cute. ("Light blood" is a compliment in Arabic, has something to do with a person's mood.) By looking at her, you can tell she's honest That's the reason I fell in love with It has a beautiful tune to the ear (Comparing her to a beautiful song) This eyebrow of yours makes the one next to you un-beautiful I saw her I became By all the fire in my heart I don't know where I am You are the glass of love and your lips are the booze Your cheeks make your body more beautiful. (He is comparing her to a rose on a stem) You make blondes look at brunettes and get jealous Every time I ask you to come close to me I get the answer: The meaning of purity I am so happy looking at you and I tell your eyes Your answer is a big meaning to me You have added much love to my heart

Most people don' remembe that the Ancient Romans did not find the peoples of Western Europe attractive or desireable. They really dispised them and considered them little more than wild animals, (not the way I feel about them mind you). Their standard of beauty was not the Western model we are innundated with today. Its just that within the last 500 yrs this has been the standard of beauty. Not surprising. I think it is human nature for a persons default seting to be that which they have been accustomed to seeing. The thing is, we also have the capacity to appreciate the beauty of others. Its a great thing when we can realize that beauty is not a resource in short supply and that it is found in every form and face on the planet.

You should check out Rogers' Nature knows no Color Line. And thanks for Sumra ya Sumra one of the many many Arabic songs comparing and contrasting the light to the dark skinned a poetic tradition that at least goes as far back as the 1000 and One Nights tales. That was really great. I also enjoyed reading sections of the article on Rogers. Like I said light skinned women can be cute but I find dark skinned girls just prettier. Just the way they appeal to me, why I'm not sure I guess it's just preference. "Latinas" and "Blacks" just have a very appealing look in terms of sex appeal.

"Latinas" and "Blacks" just have a very appealing look in terms of sex appeal. Why does one person like the peanutbutter and the other like the jelly? Just one of those mysteries of life. For me I guess my standard of beauty was set by my mother. She was an extreemly beautiful woman by anyone's standards. So I guess that's why I never bought into the idea that beauty had to come rapped in a pale package. We all gonna be invited to the wedding right?
