The guy's video is simplistic bullshiit, and demonstrates why ES, ESR, and other venues like FB Group
Ancient Kemet need to continue hammering on the basics of African diversity, and not be fooled
by apparently "liberal" people making pronouncements on Africa- they can be just as wrong as right
wingers. This bullshiit video has gotten 85,000 views showing how the Eurocentric propaganda still
commands a wide audience.
He is correct that the American and European racial "black-white" model is a strained construct
that may not make much sense in parts of Africa, but that many in the West have adopted.
But he himself comes up with his own set of BS stereotypical constructs, showing he is out of
touch with the full picture of African diversity. He says for example that when people think
of blacks they think of "Bantu" people in Africa. But this is nonsense. "Bantu" are not
"representative" of all "black" Africans- they are representative of SOME of them, and a lot
of NON Bantu for example, people who are very much "black" live on West Africa. Right off the bat
his main talking point fails, and the rest of his spiel collapses after that. The points below are
well known to ESR/ES regulars but they need repeating. Many people have not gotten the memo.
New readers or guests will benefit.
Strike 1- He uses the "Bantu" as "representative" of black people. But uh, there is more to
black people than "Bantu" speakers.. **roll eyes**
Strike 2- He talks about artificial races constructs in Africa but then himself puts forward an
artificial "Cushitic" race construct- talking about how people like Somalians are so very much
"different" from the "Bantu." His first example is how they have narrow noses. This is typical
Eurocentric bullshiit. As ES/ESR has noted many times before, narrow noses are part of NATIVE
black diversity. They are nothing special in ultra diverse Africa, just like light brown skin
color is nothing "special." IN the dendrogram below- Somalians cluster with other black "sub-Saharan"
Africans and Nubians above the Sahara. And oh, by the way, Somalia is located in "sub-Saharan"
Africa.
Strike 3- Continuing his bullshiit "analysis", he next talks about how "different" "Nilotic" people
are from "Bantu" people, cuz they are very tall. Duh.. THis is as dumb as saying that because as
a nation, Dutch people are on average taller than southern Europeans such as Portuguese that
then Dutch and Portuguese can't both be white or European. He further adds to the crock of rubbish he
is pushing by saying that Nilotic people "evolved" to be tall because of the high altitude. Really fool?
Strike 4- He then "contrasts" the Pygmies with the "Bantu" as if this is supposed to be some sort
of "supporting" point as to all the different racial groups in Africa. LOL
Strike 5- Another one of his talking points is that various "black" groups do not get along well at times.
Oh wow- that's a really impressive point- or a rather dumb point. Its like saying oh- since the Germans
and English have many tomes not gotten along, then they must be "unrelated" races.
Strike 6- He tries to use the San of SOuth Africa and how "different" they are from "Bantu" who are
used as "representative" of "black" people cuz of their light color and facial features. But light skin
color is nothing special in Africa- where are the most diverse people in the world. And light skin
is nothing special in WEST AFRICA either, as my infographic on West Africa below demonstrates.
All in all this guy is spinning a bunch of nonsense. He would not be worth the time except this BS
is getting 85,000 views when much better, detailed scientifically based videos on African peoples
are struggling to break 6000 views. It is good that on the "Comments" section some people are debunking
his bullshiit, but some other commentary is just plain childish, simplistic or i'gnant. Some folk dislike
ESR educating about the basics of African diversity. But the kind of widespread BS out there shows how
critical it is for the basics to be taught or if not taught, to be continually clarified and reinforced.
