Thx fellas!
No. Not a mini-ice age. I mean a
'normal' ~8000 year long Ice Age
(the West Africa Monsoon Minimum /
African Least Humid Period) like this:
AfrVision will not ignore that, except for Namibia
and Botswana, all Africa south of 12° N is always
lush liveable land pumping people out and pulling
them back in again as regulated by a cosmic clock.
EuroVision made us focus on the Sahara, to neglect
the bulk of Africa. How woke are we to that now?
When I started on the Wobble chart I
had Green Sahara in mind. When my
Africa-vision turned on I abandoned
Europe envisioned terms, but hopefully
not enough to lose readers.
There's no such thing as a Sahara Pump.
It's a passive sponge reacting to the W Afr
Monsoon rains. WAM moved grasslands
and treed savanna north. Naturally, folks
followed familiar fertile landscapes of
flora and fauna. Hell, even at least one
fish species swam from the Great Lakes
to the Chotts when the WAM Maximum
produced lakes and rivers north of 12° in
the
Green Sahara African Humid Period.
