www.cnn.com/2011/12/02/showbiz/music/love-songs/index.htmlThis is a mind blowing article about R&B music today & how did it get where it is. I grew up listening to R&B in Chicago . I don't really listen to the R&B music of today, for something is really missing & lacking. This article unpacks what that is !

I don't really listen to the R&B music of today, for something is really missing & lacking. This article unpacks what that is ! Hell I have to kick my Djs in the pants sometimes to play some slow jams for reggae has it's lovers rock too,and the audience?? I have to damn near bully them into getting close and stop being wall flower, but they'll grind on each other like crazy which is OK for what it is but it doesn't lend itself to romance, and this maybe the first generation of brothers without game, gone were the dayz when you walked up to a table full of young well dressed ladies and politely ask them for a dance,as a matter o fact you asked for a dance a fast jam but when the dj play a slow jam you get to keep her on the dance floor, that's when you talk stuff in her ear and make your move, and making your move didn't necessarily meant you have your way with her that night although it could happen but it was rare ,it meant you got her number which was followed by a date..the rest?? And don't get me started on the I pad I phone waddever you can have a table a bar or a club full of people tweeting, what's the hell is soo important at 3;00 am in the morning it can't wait, but everyone sits around ignoring everyone else,if this keeps up we are doomed as a species.

This was an outstanding article, I felt . Some quotes that i liked." Songs on today's urban radio are drained of romance, tenderness, & seduction". "Both the love song & those with a message sprang from the same source, the belief that loving one another & your community was important".

Face it, the emotional level of classic Soul n R&B is not easy to handle in today's world of immature instant gratification and rapid reality shift. People find themselves vulnerable and taken advantage of when being "for real." True commitment, though minimally existing is a rare beast. Practicality is the rule right now.
Tell ya what Brada. In the warm season if they have great big state parks over there stage a Beer Garden, be sure to import some old heads to keep it real, serve crabs and cheap (but not puke invoking) beers
