The women claimed that Israeli representatives from the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Health Ministry coerced them by telling them that raising large families in Israel is very difficult, that if you have many children it is hard to find work to support them, and that landlords frequently refuse to rent apartments to large families. 50,000 Ethiopian Jews have immigrated to Israel during the past 10 years. During that time, their birthrate reportedly fell by nearly 50 percent. The women said they were told they had to take what they thought were vaccinations if they wanted to continue to receive medical care from the JDC and be allowed to immigrate. Many continued to be given Depo-Provera shots once in Israel despite suffering side effects that included severe headaches and abdominal pains. One woman with osteoporosis told Vacuum that she has been getting Depo-Provera shots for four years without ever being warned by doctors that Depo-Provera is dangerous for women suffering from it. A hidden camera in an Israeli health clinic filmed an Ethiopian woman being told by a nurse that this shot is usually given only to Ethiopian women. “[It’s given] primarily to Ethiopian women,” the nurse said, “because they forget, they don’t understand, and it’s hard to explain to them, so it’s best that they receive a shot once every three months…basically they don’t understand anything.” The Israeli government denied all of the women’s allegations. However, Vaccum showed a letter from the Health Ministry to Dr. Rick Hodes, the director of the JDC Medical Programs in Ethiopia. The letter praised the Hodes’ work, noting that while fewer than 5% of Ethiopians use any form of birth control, the rate among Hodes’ patients was 30%. Rachel Mangoli, the director of the WIZO branch in Pardes Hanna, told Vaccum that in 2006 she started a program for Ethiopian children at her local absorption center. A “warning light” lit up when she realized that no babies were born to the center’s Ethiopian residents that year. She checked with the director of the local health clinic and says she was told that all the Ethiopian women at her absorption center had been given contraceptive shots because they could not be relied on to take birth control pills. I can't believe the gov. of Israel would sanction such actions, considering that they rescued the Beta Israel from persecution and that Beta Israel are an ancient form of Jewry. Then again Israel is controlled by so called "Whites" and or some reason be they A-rab, Jew or European Yellow and Pink Leukoderms hate blacks and browns.
So what should blacks embrace, Atheism/Agnostic beliefs which in its modern form is largely shaped by Europeans. I cant take seriously neo-Pagan African Americans, I think religion as a whole is bad for Africans.

Hard to believe but the nation state Israel, after years of flubbing off, only took in the Beta Israel because of pressure from George Bush Sr . Basically the Ashkenazic rabbinate doubt Beta Israel's Jewishness while the Sephardic rabbinate has upheld Beta Israel's Jewish status for hundreds of years everytime the issue emerged. They contend Beta Israel is primarily the tribe of Dan who disappeared from Hebrew record back in biblical times. Nobody's going to trust their soul to a divine entity somebody just made up today. Not me. Would you? Considering the track record of non-Abrahamic African divinities who have more non-black worshippers outside of Africa where they hide behind Xian saints for the most part why would anybody switch to divinities who reward their worshippers with a Haiti or New Orleans? As for human cruelty the Gulf of Guinea African religions supported the warfare and raids procurring people for enslavement and trans- Atlantic deportment and today support child abuse of female virgins by the priesthood. You see humanity doesn't need Abrahamic religion to act the ass. Nor did humanity wait for Abrahamic religions' birth to act the ass. The penchant for atrocity is part of human nature no need to blame any religion for it though mankind wraps up its evil nature in disguise as religion. But I thought Aliyah was extended to anyone practicing Orthodox Judaism be they converts or so called "natural" Jews. am I wrong. Also lets be clear majority of the Jews in the diaspora are either converts or heavily mixed with non Jews, so whats the big deal with the Beta Israel's Jewishness. I agree, no one wants to worship a god invented recently. Yet in all the Abrahamic faiths from the Talmud, to Islamic and Christian historical scholars and authorities blacks are treated like the scum of the earth. In Islamic, Christian and now the Jewish land of Israel its the same old ish, blacks at the bottom rung of Society, forced sterlization/Eurgenics, mocked for slavery(despite whites a large part of slavery) etc. It goes on and on. and yeah African Guinea deites were used to justify slavery but don't forget many of the Slave Trading Empires ended up converting to Islam or Christianity. To be sure, the abuse and exploitation of our fellow humans is a symptom of a defect in our collective soul. It is always based in a place of fear. Fear that if I don't control xyz, they will control me. Fear that unless I hord all the resources in society there won't be enough for me etc. Wherever humans are placed in positions of power or authority there is the potential danger that they will exploit that position. True spirituality seeks to create balance within the individual so that they live in harmony with themselves, each other and nature. I am not aware of any African "divinities" that have promoted or advocated the destruction of life and the environment. Are there people in those societies guilty of such crimes, certainly, but this was never something advocated by either the divinities, (Orisha, Lua, Netr), or the spiritual practices themselves and that is a distiction that has to be made. As for your statements regarding Haiti and New Orleans, as another member already mentioned, the chaos seen there was/is the result of Western/European forces imposing political/social/economic sanctions on those people in an attempt to destroy them. The fact that they still survive in the fact of unrelenting assaults, in my opinion is due in large part because of the strengths these people derived from what aspects of African spirituality they were able to maintain in the diaspora. My own mother for instance owes her very life to the survival to what we were able to maintain in Jamaica. She had been sick for 3 years as a child and the doctors could find nothing wrong with her, yet she was waisting away to the point where they brought the priest to give her last rites. Her grandmother, who was Pentacostal repeatedly took her to church for them to pray for her. To make a ong story short, it was only when broke down and took her to an African spiritualist that she regained conciousness and her life began to thrive. There is much more to our traditions than blind dogma or hocus pocus. There is a vibrant and profound philosohy and world view to it. But if you never go beyon scratching the surface and only focus on the external sensational aspect as the media always does, like sacrifices and trances etc, you will never know what it is all about. What concerns me, is that as a community of people of the diaspora, we make statements about reclaiming history, loving and taking pride in those features that identify us as African descendants, (black is beautiful), and asserting the need to connect with African culture and pride of self, but when it comes to the issue of spirituality there is an internal conflict. With regards to Abrahamic religions, why am I skittish? Because we as people of the diaspora have a long history of people using these religions specifically to dehumanise us and subjugate us not only physically, but emotionally. That is just a fact. And yes, while people in African societies did do evil against other Africans, the religion or spiritual practices never had a doctrine which taught that we were inhereantly inferior. There was never the need to have a debate as to wheter or not we were fully human or had a soul, or the assumption that we were les favoed by the divine because of the color of our skins. And so based on that critiria I'd also have to throw certain aspects of Hinduism into that box as well. The oter thing that rubs me the wrong way is the arrogance of the Abrahamic religions. The assertion that of all the peoples of the world, they and they alone have the favor of the creator. The Jews are "God's Chosen". Really now?! Chosen why and for what may I ask? Christians: unless you believe that this peracher in Palestine 2,000 yrs ago was god's son, you'll die and burn for eternity. Really? So what happens to all the billions of people who never got the memo or even knew that there was such a place as Palestine? As for Muslims, same thing. We all spend so much time on research and studies and all kinds of evidence to show that the Egyptians were "black", "native Africans", we take on Egyptian names etc and post pages and pages about the origins of life coming from Africa etc, but on the issue of spirituality, philosophy and the contemplation of what our purose of living is all of a sudden we need a European, or an Arab or a Jew to give us some book to explain it to us because in all the mellenia before such a thing as a Jew even came into existance nobody in Africa stopped to ponder this? Or we need Modern European scholars to come up with quantum physics theories to say what we've been saying all along for it to suddenly be right? REALLY?!   I think we have enough right at home to sustain us without looking to anyone else for their instruction or approval. Haiti may be a mess, but how old is Haiti anyway? And dont we have examples of societies al over the continent that were vibrant, harmonious and prosperous for much longer periods of time? And funny how they didn't need the Bible, Torah, or Koran to explian to them how to organise balanced societies and teach them right from wrong. In my opinion, we will never be truely free nor realise our collective potential so long as we continue to see ourselves as being in need of receiving access to the divine from others rather than recognizing the divine within ourselves.
