Yeah I know I know yet another slave era pic,the title alone make you wanna pull your hair out by the root, but with nothing else out I said meh!let me check it out,off-course they did the Roots like thing blah blah blah, but by the time I got around to the 3rd episode, some pretty interesting facts started to pop-up I won't be a spoiler, but it's a migration film, from Africa to the pre-independent America, through British ruled Canada and back to Africa. The character played by Cuba Goodings Jr,Black Sam Francis whose Tavern was used as a place of intrigue was shown to be a blackman or a man of African descent and a friend to George Washington, is interesting but problematic he was, from the Caribbean but no one knew exactly where, some sources said he was Jamaican another said he was from Haiti and yet another suggest he was from Barbados, was he White?? no one can say for sure but a portrait showed him as white while at the same time he was referred to a Negro but often as Black Sam,which a wiki source said should not be taken as to mean he was Black, the Sam character is difficult to pin down in an ethnic sense, back to the annoying title when you get to the 3rd ep. it will make sense below is a trailer.
Btw it is possible to view the series on youtube to this point.
