Today on Martin Luther King day, I came across some very interesting information about people that passed in American history. I'm sure many know about the subject , but i found out about A Chief Buffalo Child( Long Lance) who passed as a Native American & became pretty famous. Also about a Korla Pandit who passed as a Indian( East ) in the late 40's & early 50's & had his own T.V. program in Los Angles . He made famous Exotica Music" , for he was a master of the organ, & played it like no other. It is a shame that in America, people of African descent would pass for white, or another ethnic group if they could, in order to really make it in American at that time in history.

The doc showed America is so absurd on so many levels, for instance here we have a poor Black/maybe mixed with Native American but definitely white sent off to school for native American in order to pass for one of them in order to be civilized by white ppl's standards by two men one Black and one white who enabled him with letters. Thank Nebsen.

This is a film that was done in 1949 called' Pinky" I saw it on T.V. with my mom as a kid many years ago, for it was one of her favorite films. Stars Jean Crain, & the most impressive Ethel Waters as her grandmother . Yes, the film is somewhat dated, but it gives a window into what it might have been like in that era when those that could, passed. Directed by Elia Kazan who was noted for his hard hitting dramas.
