Hello peeps, more than just a rumor, the lion King of the 90ts is getting a remake, a people version rather than animated, major stars including Beyonce, and Donald Grover plus a chock full of other..so far so good it seems to be a musical.
OK my question is?? Why not just do a historical feature flick, let's say Sundiata which almost mirrors the lion king, but I guess it's closer than we have ever been..sigh" What's your thoughts ESR.

OK my question is?? Why not just do a historical feature flick, let's say Sundiata which almost mirrors the lion king, but I guess it's closer than we have ever been..sigh" What's your thoughts ESR. Beyonce seems to be bipolar concerning this remake, it was reported about a week or more, she flatly turned down the role, claiming it was a role she did not want to play( kind of beneath her) from the report I read . But the director, I believe is the same director who directed her in" Dream Girls"; must have really talked to her & promised to tweak the role more in her favor. The same issue came up for "The Black Panther" film ( which seemed to have faded into the woodwork ) about Hollywood would rather make a fantasy film with Black folks as the main characters, than to actually make a historical film about Africa & her great civilizations with black folks as the main characters . Sounds about right to me. It will probably take some of Hollywood wealth Black elites along with whites allies , to band there resources together to make such a film in order for it to be made, but looks like many are themselves unaware of Africa's historical great past to even consider it, or they are scared because of the price of such a film to be done right, & the issue of distribution esp. in Europe & around the world to recoup the money. My hunch is, if done, it would probably such a shock to the audiences that they would go & see it for the sheer audacity of such a film ; & they would be supported around the world by the African diaspora for we are starved for such a film , thus making it a winner !!

Yeah I get that, but c'mon the flick they are preparing to make won't be cheap, and utilizing an almost entirely black cast in an African back drop is just about there. BTW saw the trailer for the New Black Panther movie, seems on point, ah mean Nebsen we can have both can't we.

Their have been so many trailesr out in the past months i assumed that the film was already released. A shocker Chadwick Bosemen crowned the most popular US actor in China ! Now this is truly amazing , so maybe, just maybe there is hope for a global market of black themed films outside of the US & Europe market.
