Great additions Nebsen.
Whatcha think of Karmen Geï?
A lot more contemporary & hip compared to familiar old stuff. Good production and still not that _ollywood type fare, imo.

Thanks, I will check Karmen Gei out !! Well, as I see Karmen Gei , is the African version of Carmen with Dorothy Dandridge version ...but bringing a African( Senegal flavor) with a rawness & sensuality that one can only find in Africa esp Senegal..I was involved with a sister for many years who loved Senegal & had been there a couple of times even living in Senegal for a short time ..from this film I can see why...the only downside was the quality of the print on You-tube..but I see I can purchase this film(dvd) which I think I will to add to my African film collection..thanks for turning me on to this sensuous film ...Tukuler Al~Takuri

Like Aida, Carmen, accentuating a Morena's magnetism over males mentalities, does lend itself to our Afrikan sensibilities for both Diasporans abroad and now for Continentals at home. Is The First Grader a tear jerker? I couldn't bear seeing a 6 yr old under going anything too sad 😔
