media reacts to the enstoolment of Chinese man

The Ghanaian social media community has expressed their disdain towards the Chiefs and people of Kwahu Abetifi for enstooling a Chinese man as Chief at their area.

News went rife on social media that a Chinese national named SUN QIANG has been enstooled as the development chief (Nkosuohene) at Kwahu Abetifi, a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The enstoolment ceremony took place on 5th September 2020. A grand durbar was organized at the Kwawu Abetifi Palace to commemorate this special day.

The Chinese man owing to his enstoolment as the development chief (Nkosuohene) has been given the Ghanaian name(a Traditional stool name), Barima Kofi Ayeboafo.

Social media users after sighting pictures of the Chinese Man’s enstoolment ceremony have reacted.

Majority of them are angry at the Chief of Kwahu Abetifi whilst others couldn’t understand why a Chinese man would be made a chief in Ghana.

These Chiefs , Kings and elected leaders need to be gifted a copy of The Destruction OF Black Civilizations by Chancellor Williams.

He is only a business man , whose main interest is extracting resources..so how in the hell??

youtuber Oshay Duke Jackson, have a stinging rebuke to those of us all shocked and shigrinned at the Chinese man enstoolment.pls watch , he does have a point.

He says other foreigners have received similar titles, including African American donors or
investors. Fair enough. At first glance it looked like they were giving away or offering up one
of their traditional rulerships for Chinese cash or some other sort of payoff. A good CHinese donor
should get the same treatment as a Western one. I have no problem with this. I guess Africans are wary
because the CHinese make use of extensive bribery in some African cou8ntries to get big projects that
may be of limited practical local value (lie opera houses), or that saddle African countries with
heavy debt held by CHina, which can squeeze even more future concessions. A number of African politicians
sign away resources worth many more millions on the open market over time, to get the payola, per a couple
of books and articles we have seen here on ESR.

In the link below, Senegal which is in debt to China for about 1 billion is licensing out much deep sea fishing
to the CHinese, putting the squeeze on local African fishermen, including the small guys.

That's why the mistrust is there, wasteful use of resources, there are couple of leaders that I like, foremost among them is John Megufuli of Tanzania who seemed to be a do it yourself kinda guy.

The loan in question was signed by Magufuli’s predecessor Jakaya Kikwete to construct a port at Mbegani creek in Bagamoyo of Tanzania.
Dodoma| Tanzania President John Magufuli has decided to cancel the loan worth $10 billion offered by China. Magufuli said that “only a drunkard will accept the terms” of agreement in this loan.

The loan in question was signed by Magufuli’s predecessor Jakaya Kikwete to construct a port at Mbegani creek in Bagamoyo.

According to local media reports, Jakaya Kikwete had signed the loan agreement with Chinese investors to build the port on condition that they would get 30 years to guarantee on the loan and 99 years uninterrupted lease.

Labelling the agreement as “killer Chinese loan”, many African organisations and citizens had demanded the then President to reject the offer. They had wanted the president of “dire consequences” because of this deal, but their concerns were ignored and the deal was signed.

Though, after coming to power, Magufuli had initiated a renegotiation process by pressing the investors to bring down the lease period to 33 years from 99 years.

The loan offer was rejected by the governemnt after the investors didn’t meet the deadline given by Magufuli government.

Chian, on several occasions, has been accused of luring poor African countries by providing debts for important infrastructure projects and controlling them after they failed to repay the debt in a given time.
