Yes, the reasons are many..Chicago along with other large cities of the est & Midwest called the( Rust Belt) was changing for sure, I left Chicago for greener pastors in the late 60's I was the only one at the time from my hood to do so, but I had a few of my crew-to go with me..& when we arrived on the West coast there was a group already from Chicago who was here on the West coast..so the move West had already began..Now there is a movement of Black folks moving South, Houston in a few years will become Americas 3rd largest city But I want to say this being a Chicagoan, I had never felt Chicago as when Herold Washington was mayor, there was growing" Symmetry" that was amazing about Chicago that was missing with Daily & later mayors ..it was palpable a" Tone A Feeling" that came with Harold Washington the city was beginning to work for ALL instead of a few..& when he died of a so called" heart attract" at his desk the city was in shock.. I was there..I was stunned .. many felt he was murdered..a lots of conspiracy theories began to circulate in the Black community about his death being suspicious... But this was on the radio a few days ago about the Black Panthers .....In keeping with the main thread ... www.npr.org/2021/04/23/990088415/npr-podcast-throughline-examines-the-real-black-panthers
