Roderick Mclntosh is giving a lecture on African cities ..I found this lecture very interesting ..for ones seldom or I seldom come across a substantive discussion on ancient African cites..Being a white guy he seems to be very passionate about the anthropology/archaeology of ancient African. cities. What I find very interesting is his owning up to what European Archeologist missed what was staring them right in their face because they were looking for European & Asian models of what a ancient city would look like . .. In the crowd there seemed to be more women than men & I counted 2 Black folks at the lecture..Rodrick Mclntosh is Professor of Anthropology at Yale & has trained Africans to excavate cities in Africa..

good stuff...
perhaps that urban assemblage in China was established by Africans.
With this new paradigm who knows how many cities are in SubSaharan Africa and even in the Sahara.

yes. the entire cart is being upset. lets see how long it takes to reach mass media.
Folks still have to keep pushing because the resistance doesn't sleep and will keep finding ways to assert their nonsense.

Agree, but academic time is very different from mass media time that; likes things fast& at times half baked..to meet the market...Most people unless they have a deep interest are not going to really take the time to listen to these kinds of talks, lectures etc.,. In certain disciplines, like astronomy, it sometimes takes years to reach the masses...The mass markets( sorry to say most people who have been programed by the media) like things that are catchy, shinny, short & titillates...Academics is just the opposite of that...for some here this kind of historical knowledge, information, can be exciting & exhilarating... myself included...
