This video is from African DNA concerning how the new field of precision medicine impacts Black people..A very important discussion, having had not to long ago a medical procedure..& not feeling all that comfortable..in how they handled things & with the medical apartheid in this country..this is hopeful

What do they mean precision medicine? Precision medicine is when they tallier medicine based off of your DNA ,that's why in the video they are talking about a African Genome because most of the models are based on a European model . if you checked out the video the subject of the 1st people being Africans needs to be done...their are variations with people of African descent that is not in the more European model Rick Kittals & African Ancestry has the largest DNA samples of all the DNA companies out there..they can pin point the region & Ethnic group (tribe) that one's DNA is from be it Maternal or Paternal..but it comes with a cost of about $ 300 bucks .. The next cutting edge in medicine is Precision medicine..so they are saying if we don't want to be left behind we need to do our on research & Genome.. By the way of speaking of medicine here is a Black doctors who has a book out on the issue of being a Black doctor & his work... I'm also going to include this video with Harriet Washington who wrote the ground breaking book Medical Apartheid that will give context for those who might not know about the term & her book |
