I was some what waiting to see the comments to this video, but none so far. What struck me most about this information was how little we know of ancient West Africa's past. We are not talking medieval (middle ages), we are talking ancient 2,500 B.C.A. & megacities that rival Mesopotamia's city states of the time!
Also did you not hear, or notice, in the video piece, the archaeologist said ,that they have not seen any signs of war & waring, therefore it seems like they lived in relative peace !
So for me this somewhat turns on it's head the notion of the, "always at war with each other, africans". We are not talking about 5 years or so, but many generations of peace! This subject needs further investigation , so if any on this forum can add to this information please do !

I forgot under whose thread I posted the vid. But yes I but I am trying to keep track of anything new taking place in that area, the pre-Islamic phase of the city that was twice the size of Timbuktu quite interesting and they seemed to be at peace but wealthy.
