www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1182266/A lot of people cite this study as evidence that the Egyptian population has mixed significantly with Southwest Asians in the last 3,000 years, but the paper's Table 3 claims that the Southwest Asian Y-chromosome Haplogroup J expanded in Egypt between 16.4 and 11.1 thousand years ago. Wouldn't this support the Eurocentric argument that there was a significant prehistoric back-migration from Southwest Asia into Egypt.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1182266/A lot of people cite this study as evidence that the Egyptian population has mixed significantly with Southwest Asians in the last 3,000 years, but the paper's Table 3 claims that the Southwest Asian Y-chromosome Haplogroup J expanded in Egypt between 16.4 and 11.1 thousand years ago. Wouldn't this support the Eurocentric argument that there was a significant prehistoric back-migration from Southwest Asia into Egypt. It doesn't support the Eurocentric argument at all. Its one thing to point out that Asiatics migrated into Egypt, its quite another to claim that they were the founders of that civilization. It would be like claiming American civilization and culture was created by Mexicans. Given the proximity to Egypt and the fact that the Sahara was green at the time, common sense alone dictates that there must have been some degree of migration into the Delta. However, their numbers would have been small. They were absorbed into the population. This is one of the factors that might have contributed to the fact that the northern physical type showed differences from those of the south. The real question that matters is not a concept of racial purity, (which is and always has been a Eurocentric concern), but whether or not the culture and civilization was an off shoot of that in Western Asia or whether it developed on the African continent. The overwhelming evidence shows that it is a native African creation with no significant parallells in Western Asia. Although in the early period one could see similarities between the cultures in the north of Egypt with that in southern Palestine, the culture in the south did not and it was the southern culture which in time eclipsed that of the north. Once again, the issue of racial purity is not one we need to be concerned with. It is culture not skin color that defines a people. So just as the Afro American community has absorbed a certain percentage of European and Native American blood, so too did the Egyptians absorbe a certain degree of Asiatic blood. Afro Americans are still a people of African descent regardless and Egyptians are still Africans regardless.

Remember that Egypt invaded Middle Eastern towns and perhaps took slaves to Egypt, also don't forget Hebrews used to reside in Egypt.
