I don't think authentic Afrocentricty has anything to do with black conquisadors. I think labeling black pride and black presence outside of Africa is what the media hypes as Afrocentrism and is totally unrelated to Afrocentricity as expounded by Molefi Asante and others whp follow the philosophy of Afrocentricity. Good post SCV It would make sense to have converso Moors and Jews in the make up of the Conquistadors them formally having knowledge of technical and military science in Spain. LMAO, BUSTED Did'nt YOU JUST on the Colubus thread say how evil Columbus was for what he Did to the Natives...Now all of a Sudden its "GOOD" to know about a Black Conqistador and how they had Technical and Millitary Science in Spain. Typical Afrocentric Contradiction and Flip Flop, The White Euros are Invaders, Rapists, etc. The Blacks are Educated Saviors and Heros with Technical Knowledge.. Exposed You and SVC, nothing but some Biased Afrocentrics..LOL..Im gonna save this to my computer..LOL Like I said you peices of Trash don't care about what the Euros did to the Natives, Never have never will, all you care about is Revionism and to continue your Inferiority complex driven campaign to White Wash Europeans out of History Columbus is not to hyped by me, because he was the one who started it all he set the standard after he met the natives who showed him great hospitality and viewed how peaceful their societies were, he turned around and said they show be converted adopt our ways and made to do work, under his watch he had natives dig for gold and had their hand chopped off if they came up short on their quota this is very similar to Leopard of the Congo so lets build a monument to him too shall we. Yet this Dude Hypes a Black Conquistador, The Nerve of this Dude..LOL.

Well because YOU decided to quote me, Ill play I know what Afrocentricity is "Supposed" to be, well sorry for you and me the Afrocentric scholarship has been hijacked by diffusionists and radicals like Mike111, Clyde Winters, Ashra Kewesi etc. who are using a reactionairy emotion in blacks to convince them they are some how special due to blatant Revisions in World History. You can deny it all you want or blame Whitey(The Media) but you cant hide the Scholars who produce books and website claiming Black Chinese, Black Vikings, Black Olmecs, Black Dutch, I even seen Black Anglo Saxons..LMAO. This is why I don't ascribe to Afrocentricity anymore, its nothing but a psudo revisionist movement to hoodwink gulliable blacks into a false sense of pride. Its like Marijuana smoke its a delusional feeling that can only last for so long, once you take that first hit you need more. I agree with Egypt being "Black" although Tropically adapted is more accurate, but few afrocentrics are willing to learn from Egypt, all they want to do is claim blacks built the pyramids and march around some ruined temples claiming they invented Christianity and Islam. The Day I see Ashra Kewesi and Mike and Clyde and all the other Hoodwinkers March around this.. Or this.. Or for Afrocentrics to take pride and to focus on this.. (The Housa people of N. Nigeria) is when anyone will take Afrocentricity serious..What's wrong with the above that so many "Afrocentrics" hate to acknowledge and claim, Why Ignore it and claim the Vikings and Greeks and Indians??

I have no problem with the True indiginous Architecture and cultural practices of Africans. some of it I like others its not for me.

So why should those who are Afro-eccentric be allowed the name Afrocentric when in fact they are not and only given that name because it suits the media need to disclaim positive paradigm scholarship on Africa, Africans and things so related? Would it be allowed if someone claimed to be of Plato's school of philosophy but in fact had no relationship to that school to be flaunted as such anyway? No I don't and won't accept this bait and switch tactic to spread propaganda over a political philosophic discipline that makes African people active participants instead of inert objects in other peoples' worldviews. None of those people or those pseudo-ethnologies you listed are any part of Afrocentricity which has not been hi-jacked only that the media and those who follow what the media says is reality have fallen for this wolf in sheep's clothing or emperor's new clothes version of Afrocentrism. Authentic Afrocentricity is alive and well and disclaims all that pseudo stuff but no one is listening or paying any attention to the authentic writers of Afrocentricity. This is what I've found out since I opened my eyes over the summer and began investigating Afrocentricty for what it says it is instead of what the media says it is. You obviously seem aware of what Afrocentricity is but have been swayed into accepting pseudo-Afrocentricity as the real deal (as once I did), but for others who may have no idea I suggest this website as a beginning if they would like to discover authentic Afrocentricity www.asante.net/articles/

You know something, I may have been premature.
I just started researching Afrocentricity via Asante's writings. Now that I've been apprised of a book he edited titled Egypt vs Greece, I want to read it to see what ideas about the founding of civilizations he endorses by publishing them under his editorship or if included as a presentation to be considered (sometimes editors include material they don't necessarily agree with or even include essays dissenting to each other in order to give light to varying viewpoints).
There's a difference between contributing to a civilization and founding it. I wonder precisely what stance is presented in the book which is a collection of essays by various authors.
It will be some weeks before I can get the book. When I do I will be able to see if Asante saying Afrocentrics don't make claims that ancient Greeks were Africans was honest or just to gain "points."
