Maureen Higgins Markov: Aug 6, 2011 I have about 4 Ls of various subclades and and they are all anonymous or just say "multiple regions" in the description area.
This is possibly the source of some of my L matches, as Portugal matching does show up on my AF and on the break downs by various off site studies.
If any Ls show show a US/Irish match, I am happy to share

Aussie: Sep 7, 2011 (5 days ago)My 1/2 sibling is 28.4%, so at 20% get ready to discover that there may have been an adoption or two involved here or even an illegitimate close relative out there, hopefully wanting to know who they really are.

MarciaBrady: Sep 7, 2011 (5 days ago)Lol at pulling hair out-- I'm getting pretty close! I've tried contacting 23andme, but don't expect them to tell me anything other than "hope they write back." It's like dangling this really great piece of the puzzle, and then pulling it back.
There really isn't anyone else I can test--this is the closest to that side of the family as I've ever gotten. Aussie--if your half-sib is 28%, do you think that's what this could be? It's actually 20.4%. It seems like it's a little too little for half-sib, a little too much for uncle or nephew? And if it was a grandfather, he would be Really Old and unlikely to be on the site.
Thanks everyone, for your thoughts! Those relatives who have contacted me so far have all been lovely. This is a great community!

Kasandra: Sep 7, 2011 (5 days ago)As Goldnen says, 20 percent -- by the books -- is grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, half-siblings, double first cousins
I dream of hacking 23andMe over my 2nd cousin, I can't imagine what I'd do with an unspeaking 20% out there

Geneadict: Sep 8, 2011 (5 days ago)Also, depending on your age, it is very possible that a grandparent may have been tested as many people are testing older relatives. I've personally had 7 people tested who are octogenarians or older with my grandfather's first cousin who turns 102 this month being the oldest (was 100 when I got her tested).

race is an artificial construct, used to confuse the people it works well. everybody inherits a placement on the earth, where they form bloodlines and nations. african american's are not africans. they are the native peoples of the americas. the education and fool system work hand in hand to keep them to participate in their own slaughter. and why would anyone follow egypt's lead anyway. the original egyptians aren't here to speak for themselves, a land of people exterminated, and it looks like "african americans" will follow them to their doom.
