This is a non-topic. The results on an IQ test are based on instruction. As a result, these test scores are the result of poor teaching and in no way reflect the intelligence of African people.

Well, top people's today seem to do the best in these tests.
The marvelous Greek scores IIRC were around the same as the African American scores -- which is a good comparison because the context of each is peoples testing in their own home countries.
Also, Asians are smart.

For instance are they testing Asians who are university educated and have exposure to Western culture as versus Africans living in primarily rural areas or who don't have access to the same levels of education? |

Oh African Americans. Okay, once again, what segment of the population did they draw their samples from? Considering the fact that a large percentage of African Americans live in economically challenged areas where the educational system is piss poor, I would be surprised. I'm sure the asians tested were those who do have access to descent education and not people in the rural areas or peole without adequate education. |

From what I've been told by friends who are MENSA members the test does not measure intelligence but onse familiarity with certain cultural norms. I saw a documentary a few years ago which tested several people who all had above average IQs. The tests were all based on different aspects of intelligence, kinestetic, visual, creativity, memory etc. When tested outside of the standard IQ model of "intelligence" they all failed. By the way, all these people were of different races. Therefore, IQ scores do not measure "intelligence" per say, but only one aspect of intelligence. It reflects a cultural bias on the part of the test creators for certain areas but ignores others. Besides, having known several MENSA members, (as the local chapter use to hold their monthly meetings in my home), ahhhh..... They might have had above average test scores but that didn't stop many of them from being bumb as rocks when it came to real life practical skills. |

Plenty.In the rest of the world there is a two track system of education. As a result, students are assigned a vocational or prep school track. Only prep school students take IQ tests. As a result, those students with well to do parents are going to recieve a better education and be placed on the prep school track. It is obvious that schooling determines IQ and the more money you have is going to determine the school you atend. |

I'd suggest watching the film "waiting for Superman" to see where Americans rank in level of academic performance world wide. Since all human beings have the same capacity for learning and intelligence any differences must be attributed to factors in the environment. The correct question to ask is what are Asians doing that everyone else is not doing. |

I am not the sharpest tool in the shack..and maybe i shouldn't say this but I have folks with high degrees working for me..you think it should be the other way around but self motivation and drive is the real test, how many of you out there who are egg heads end up working for someone who is a collage drop-out or don't have your scholastic achievements...take your time and reflect on this. Bill Gates collage drop-out.
