It's deep brown. As for the term black... Well black by whose deffinition? The Latin American, United States? Why, in America, even those tight skinned Tuaregs that want to create their own country in Niger are black, even though they don't consider themselves black. Hell in East Africa you can find people as brown as chocolate that will look you in the eyes with a straight face and tell you they're Persian. So what is black and who are "they"?

Okay Anansi. This one is for you. In the context of what this guy is saying, in Western societies can black people or minorities be racist? Well, no. Because he is using racism in this context to describe a an exercise of power by one group over another. Therefore, in the context of our societies, because we are minorities, we do not have the numeric, economic or political power to exclude anyone form key positions in society or exercising their rights. However, do black have the potential to be racist? Of course we do. The reason being that the exercise of this type of power dynamic is based on human interactions. So if there was a situation where blacks were a numeric majority and held key positions of power, they could, if they chose, descriminate against any group they felt like.
I think the deeper question is are blacks capable of bigotry and prejudice and the answer to that is absolutely, because once again, we are talking about a social dynamic that is universal to the human experience. All human beings are capable of such behavior. Therefore, racism, bigotry etc is not something that any one population has a pattent on. We must also realize that the racsm we as people of African descent face at the hand of Europeans grew out of their class descrimination towards each other. To understand the mechanics of racism you have to study European social dynamics and then it makes sense. There is nothing that was said about us, or done to us that was not first said about and done to the European lower classes by the aristocracy. The whole idea of descriminatin based on anscestry grew out of the idea that those born from an aristocratic lineage had more worth than "commoners" and therefore, marrying a commoner was forbidden. Even within the aristocratic class there was a ridgid hierarchy. This is the reason why the monarchies of Europe are all related in one way or another. They would rather marry a foreigner of the same rank than marry into the family of their own nation of a lower rank. There's a series on T.V now called The White Queeen that is based on the history of the English monarchy where it became a scandal when King Henry married a woman, Elizabeth, who was not only from another house, but a commoner, even though she was an aristocrat. I think she was the grand mother or great grand mother of King Henry the 8th. can't remember the exact timeline, but it shows how deep this ran within their society.
Because Africans were brough in as servants, they automatically became an underclass, as did native Americans. Interestingly enough though, in Latin America, one of the ways Europeans gained a foothold of authority was by marying the daughters of the Incan and Aztec aristocracy. By doing that, they gained legitimacy as rulers in that society, but more importantly, when they imposed European law, all of the wealth of the wife went to the husband. This is why to this day in those countries the native population is on the bottom rung of society.

[ in america these people are called black? In America every single one of those people would be considered black. To be crude, 50 years ago if they had tried to eat at a restaurant anywhere in the south they would have been told, we don't serve here. If they got on a bus and tried to sit in the front, they would have been told , get your ass to the back of the bus. That is historical and cultural fact my friend. Before you use terms like black, negro etc, you need to do some cultural and historical research to see what these terms mean in various societies in the west, to whom they were applied and why. My father is much lighter in complexion than any of the people you showed and he has bluish eyes. In America he is considered a black man. Just for you own knowledge. Here are some famous American Black people Adam Clayton Powell JR. American Negro Civil Rights Activist Since I can't post more than one video at a time, your job is to find pictures of the following people and post them in your reply. 1. Leena Horne: Legendary Negro Jazz singer and entertainer 2. Leader of the NAACP Walter White: American Negro Civil Rights Activist. Walter's father died after a car accident because he was refused medical treatment at the nearest hospital which was reserved for whites only. He had been admitted to the hospital, but when a darker relative showed up to see how he was doing, the hospital kicked him out. 3. W.E.B Duboise: Activist and scholar Most of these people are far whiter than any of the berbers you showed. Therefore, once again I say to you, do you know what it means to be black in the context of American society and how this classification was created and for what purpose?

Information for you. The overwhelming majority of all African Americans are of mixed race. None of them are 100% pure blooded Africans, no matter how dark they may look. Almost everyone has some European ancestry. A great many of them have Native American Ancestry as well. Even a person who is more than 50% European is considered black in the United States. Some more research for you. Look up these terms and post pictures to go with the deffinitions 1. Mulatto 2. Quadroon 3. Octoroon 4. Quinteroon Come back with the required information and we will continue the discussion.
